SMALL WEBSITES. MEANINGFUL HELP.
Whether you need your first website or a fresh start, we want to help smaller local organisations get online.
Open to registered Isle of Man charities and non-profit community groups based on the island and serving the local community.
You must be an adult authorised to apply on behalf of the organisation. Community groups do not have to be registered charities; we will check their non-profit purpose.
Commercial businesses and personal projects are outside this offer.
Apply by 11:59pm on the 25th. We check eligibility and select one eligible organisation at random on the 28th of that month.
Every eligible organisation has one entry, regardless of how many people nominate it. No purchase, donation or payment is needed.
We contact the selected organisation privately to confirm the project. Publication in our portfolio follows their agreement.
CLEAR FROM THE START
No setup or design fees. After the included first year, renewal is £40 annually, with no obligation to renew.
Renewal covers continued standard domain registration, hosting and HTTPS. We contact you before renewal; there is no automatic charge.
In return, your website carries a small REALLYBYTE credit linking to our website-design page, and we ask to feature the finished site in our portfolio. We agree any public write-up with you first.
See our website-design service →The offer covers a straightforward three-page static website. You supply approved text, your logo and any images you have permission to use. We agree the content, domain and launch schedule before building.
Standard-priced .im, .com or .co.uk domains are included, subject to availability, with a £20 allowance each for first-year registration and standard annual renewal. Premium domains and extra functionality are quoted separately. Any future domain cost above the allowance is explained before renewal.
Online shops, custom booking systems, full email mailboxes, extra pages and ongoing content management are outside the included offer.
After the 14-day adjustment period, minor updates cost £10 per small batch of changes. Larger work is quoted first. Corrections to REALLYBYTE errors are always free. Full update terms →
A FEW PRACTICAL DETAILS
You are welcome to apply again next month. Entries do not automatically roll over. Applications received after the 25th go into the following month's selection.
Yes — please ask an authorised representative of the organisation to send the application, or put them in touch with us. Please do not submit another person's private contact details without their permission.
We email the selected organisation on the 28th and ask it to respond within seven days. We check the application details and agree the three pages, domain and timeline. If it declines, does not respond or is ineligible, we make another random selection from that month's remaining eligible entries. Selection is handled by REALLYBYTE; this page does not run an automatic draw.
There is no selection that month. The next monthly round opens as usual; unused places do not accumulate. An organisation that has already received a free website through this initiative cannot receive another.
Yes. Your organisation owns its domain and finished website and can move elsewhere, subject to normal registrar transfer restrictions. You do not have to renew with REALLYBYTE.
